ESMT offers two structured doctoral pathways: a DBA designed for working professionals, in partnership with the FEDE doctoral school, and a Doctorate in Digital Science and Technology (STN) awarded with UCAD. These programmes train experts capable of addressing complex challenges in management, computing and telecommunications.

The ESMT doctoral school covers the field of Science and Technology through two specialisations: Management, Computing and Telecommunications (DBA) and Digital Science and Technology (STN).

A doctorate for working professionals
The DBA is aimed at managers in post who wish to take an academic step back from their practice, without interrupting their career, validating and deepening their experience through applied research.
Objectives
Analyse and resolve complex organisational or strategic issues within the company.
Target audience
Experienced professionals aiming for executive positions, and consultants seeking academic credentials.
Teaching approach
A blended format combining e-learning, research work and project case studies.
Admission
Holders of a five-year higher education degree in digital technology, management or telecoms, with an approved DBA project.


Training high-level doctors in digital technology
The STN Doctorate trains researchers and experts able to thrive in a fast-moving, innovation-driven digital environment, combining scientific excellence with intercultural openness.
Objectives
Train doctors able to design, assess and steer complex digital systems and services.
Admission
Open to holders of a Master's Degree or a design engineering degree in digital technology, on the basis of academic excellence.
Teaching approach
Cross-disciplinary courses, seminars, workshops, placements, research work and thesis writing.
Career outcomes
Roles as consultant, project manager, research officer, researcher or teaching researcher.
Cost
UCAD fees and annual tuition fees at ESMT depending on status (self-funded or sponsored thesis).
Administrative and scientific support
Enrolment takes place online and application files are submitted to ESMT, which handles administrative follow-up and scientific coordination with UCAD and academic partners.
